PNP
'Person Selection Period' and 'Data Selection Period' are two poorly understood fields in PNP selection screen.
Data Selection Period' : These fields do not effect in any way the number of records fetched by the PNP LDB. It is always for the user to use these fields in program to explicitly limit the number of records.
'Person Selection Period' : This is the period used to select the employees, based on the values given in section 'Person Selection' of the PNP selection screen. I.e. All employees who satisfy conditions given in 'Person selection' section, atleast on ONE DAY in the 'Person selection period', will be fetched by the PNP LDB.
PNPCE
In PNPCE, data selection period takes care of selecting infotypes records from database as well. That is if you enter 1.1.2010 - 12.31.2010 in data selection period, when GET PERAS happens, infotype records will have only valid records in the period 1.1.2010 - 12.31.2010. All records will not be fetched.
